Additional FAQs for Students and Graduates
Q: What is the process for submitting résumés and scheduling interviews for the Career Fair?
A: Students apply for interviews prior to the Career Fair by submitting résumés and cover letters directly to participating employers using Symplicity. Employers will review materials and contact the students that they want to interview. To learn more about the employers who are participating in the Career Fair, login to your Symplicity account.
NOTE: In accordance with NALP guidelines, first-year students are not permitted to participate in one-on-one employer interviews. However, they may participate in Table Talk and conference sessions.
Q: What is the deadline for students and graduates to submit résumés to employers?
A: Equal Justice Works strongly encourages students to submit applications via Symplicity by September 8. At their discretion, employers may still accept résumés after this date. Students and graduates are encouraged to review registered employers in Symplicity often and submit résumés as soon as possible. Equal Justice Works does not accept résumés.
Q: When will students and graduates have a response from employers?
A: We have asked employers to notify students and graduates of their interview status as soon as possible, or by September 17. Students and graduates may follow up with employers using the contact information provided in Symplicity.
Q: What is Table Talk?
A: Table Talk allows students and graduates to meet informally with employers. During Table Talk sessions, students can stop by employer tables to discuss summer and post-graduate opportunities and drop off résumés. No conference sessions will be scheduled during Table Talk.
Q: Which employers participate in Table Talk?
A: Every employer at the Career Fair participates in Table Talk. This is a great opportunity for students to meet with the employers in which they are particularly interested.
Q: Can students speak with employers outside of Table Talk if they don’t have an interview scheduled?
A: Employers will have signs at their tables indicating that they are either in an interview or available to speak with students. Students should approach an employer ONLY if the employer is NOT conducting an interview.
