Biography

Hometown:

Houston, Texas

Law school:

Making the connection:

Poverty should not determine the way society views a person, nor should it determine the type of treatment a person receives. I went to law school to gain the power to make a difference. It hurts me to know that people in America are still treated unfairly due to their standing in life, and I feel it is my obligation to take a stand for those who have been discriminated against.

Surviving law school:

I entered law school knowing that I desired a career in public service. I kept my internships and volunteer efforts geared towards helping those who were the most vulnerable and needing assistance the most. I was never driven by the thought of fame and notoriety as an attorney, but knew I wanted to leave a legacy of service and true to commitment to helping those less fortunate than myself.

Recommended books:

I have literally read hundreds of books in my lifetime, so it is definitely hard to narrow down my list of favorites. Of all the books I have read, two that stand out in my mind are The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah and Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews.

Favorite website(s):

I love fashion and travelling, so the majority of my internet time is spent checking out the latest arrivals at The Limited(my favorite clothing store) or looking for cheap airline tickets on Travelocity.
