The Project

Build the capacity of tenant associations in project based section 8 HUD assisted properties in the Bay Area by increasing tenants’ knowledge of their rights, responsibilities, and options for preserving their housing and improving their communities.

The Inspiration

Need Addressed By Project
Lower income individuals and families are at risk of losing their homes as affordability restrictions on many Project-Based Section 8 housing developments throughout the Bay Area begin to expire. Strong and active tenants and tenants associations with access to organizing and legal support can help tenants to exercise their rights, preserve their homes, and strengthen their communities.
