The Project

Provide legal advice and representation to individuals who face systemic barriers to employment. This project focuses specifically on those who face difficulty finding employment due to a record of past arrest or conviction, and those who experience employment discrimination due to status as a former criminal offender.

The Inspiration

Need Addressed By Project
This project provides legal support, through representation and/or advice to persons experiencing difficulty finding work due to (1) an outstanding child support order or judgment, (2) persons who were terminated from or denied employment based upon a conviction or arrest record, (3) person who have been denied employment due to past indicate Child abuse and Neglect investigations, and seek to have the indicated cases sealed or unfounded.

Tschika is the right person for this project because:
• She remains at the intersection of social justice, law and civil rights
• She has always carried the belief that access to justice and the opportunity to vindicate one’s grievance leads to a more harmonious and progressive society
• She has saturated her life with opportunities, both voluntarily and professionally, that exposed her to societal injustices and avenues to redress these injustices
