The Project

Assist adults 60 and over with legal issues surrounding elder abuse. Train legal professionals to increase there knowledge of financial exploitation, neglect, and abuse of the elderly.

The Inspiration

Need Addressed By Project
This project addresses legal issues that are highly under represented. This includes considering how aging affects a person and how those changes make them more susceptible to abuse or being the abuser. It includes clients need for legal professionals to be understanding to their memory problems and capacity issues. The project also address' the inter complex issue of elder abuse and how some may consider it a "family issue" and not want to report.
The Right Person For This Project

Lakeshia is the right person for the project because:
• She is dedicated to working with her clients to not only help them legally, but connect with them when they are going through a such a traumatic moment in their lives
• She has always appreciated working with the low-income population and this project allows me to extend my services to them
