The Inspiration

Need Addressed By Project
Since October 2015, the average length of detention for families in Texas family detention centers has drastically decreased. As a result, their legal needs have shifted from pre- to post-release. Once released from detention, though, these families must contend with a barrage of expectations and obligations to comply with the terms of their release and pursue their asylum case. Post-release services are incredibly important to ensure families have access to legal resources to avoid deportation.
