The Student Hurricane Network is a national organization dedicated to providing long-term assistance to communities affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The $5,000 award is funded by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell and is designed to financially support law students who have done an exceptional job practicing public interest law. The award is part of a $60,000 grant the company has given Equal Justice Works to support the work the organization does in 47 states nationwide.

Equal Justice Works creates and supports public interest law opportunities for law students and lawyers.
