UPS SVP TERI PLUMMER McCLURE JOINS EQUAL JUSTICE WORKS BOARD | |

WASHINGTON,
D.C. - Equal Justice Works today announced that UPS senior executive Teri Plummer McClure has joined its board of directors. Ms. McClure joins 24 other leaders in the legal profession to support and direct the activities of the national nonprofit. Ms. McClure began her UPS career in 1995 as employment counsel for the Corporate Legal Department. She held various management positions including vice president of operations for the Central Florida District before returning to headquarters to lead the Corporate Legal Department and join the UPS Management Committee. Her current responsibilities as Senior Vice President of Legal, Compliance and Public Affairs, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary include oversight for the company's legal compliance and public affairs activities. Prior to joining UPS Ms. McClure practiced labor and employment law in Atlanta, representing employers in state and federal civil litigation matters. A native of Kansas City, Kansas, she received a bachelor's degree in marketing and economics from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a juris doctorate degree from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta. In addition to her corporate responsibilities, Ms. McClure is a member of various bar associations and serves on the boards of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the Center for Working Families, Junior Achievement of Georgia, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, in addition to Equal Justice Works. She also is active with many civic and professional organizations. "Public interest law will always be one of my passions and I'm proud to be part of an organization that helps to ensure legal representation for underserved communities and causes." said Ms. McClure. "Through its Fellowships, summer internships, loan repayment programs, and other efforts, Equal Justice Works enables law students and attorneys to choose public service and make lasting contributions that benefit all of us." The Equal Justice Works Board of Directors is a diverse group of national leaders from law firms, law schools, corporate legal departments, and the public sector. Board member terms are three years. Equal Justice Works, a nonprofit, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1986 by law students dedicated to working for equal justice on behalf of underserved communities and causes. Today, Equal Justice Works is the national leader in creating summer and postgraduate public interest opportunities for law students and lawyers as well as in urging more public interest programming at law schools.
