EQUAL JUSTICE WORKS NAMES ANDREW ZOVKO
DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Equal Justice Works has announced the appointment of Andrew Zovko as Director of Development. In his new position, Mr. Zovko will lead a staff of seven and work closely with Equal Justice Works Chief Executive Officer David Stern and the board of directors to implement development plans to expand the organization’s public interest law programs, including the largest postgraduate legal fellowship program in the nation.

Mr. Zovko has over 18 years of experience in fundraising for a wide variety of causes including environmental protection, poverty assistance and support for military families. Most recently, he served as Development Director for the Armenian Assembly of America. Prior to that, he worked at the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty, a host organization for Equal Justice Works Fellows, and at the National Family Caregivers Association. Previously Mr. Zovko held membership services positions with Environmental Defense and The Wilderness Society and development positions with Catholic Charities of Washington, Water Environment Research Foundation and the Archdiocese for the Military Service.

Mr. Zovko holds a Master’s Degree from Oxford University in Syriac Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree from Princeton University in Near Eastern Studies.

“We have great plans for the next couple of years and are looking forward to working with Andy in helping us achieve our development goals,” said Mr. Stern. “His hands-on experience in a range of nonprofit disciplines and strategic thinking are welcome additions to our team.”

Mr. Zovko joined Equal Justice Works as Director of Development on March 10.
