The Volunteer Legal Services Program (VLSP) of The Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) - a nonprofit organization that provides free legal and related social services to low-income and indigent San Francisco residents by recruiting and training private attorneys, legal support staff, students, and other professionals, to assist individual clients..
This fellow manages VLSP's clinical projects, such as the Collection Defense Clinic, Consumer Rights and Responsibilities Clinic, the Legal Advice and Referral Clinics, and the Courthouse Landlord/Tenant Project. The AmeriCorps Fellow is also developing VLSP's student volunteer intern program. Working under the supervision of the Volunteer Services Manager, the AmeriCorps Legal Fellow focuses on outreach efforts to increase the number of law student and attorney volunteers as well as the implementation of volunteer retention programs.
