Program Assistant

Emma Shimp is the program assistant for the Law School Engagement and Advocacy unit at Equal Justice Works.

Emma joined Equal Justice Works as a recent graduate of the University of Virginia. While in school, she volunteered for the Sexual Assault Resource Agency in Charlottesville, VA, serving as a crisis counselor on a 24/7 Hotline for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. Emma is passionate about women’s health and rights and supporting the work of students in public interest law.

Emma was an Echols Scholar at the University of Virginia, where she earned a B.A. in Medical Anthropology with a minor in Women’s Studies.
