Jonathan Townes is the Development Coordinator at Equal Justice Works.
Jonathan’s work and passion for public service began in his junior year of high school where he was elected as the Student Representative on the Board of Education for Baltimore City Public Schools. While on the Board of Commissioners, Jonathan served his community as a student intern for the Second Councilmanic District of Baltimore City, working alongside then-Councilman Brandon Scott, who is currently the 52nd Mayor of Baltimore.
Jonathan graduated from Towson University in 2021 with a B.S. in Political Science. During his time there, Jonathan served as the Andrew Goodman Foundation’s Vote Everywhere Ambassador and Team Leader, where he helped the university achieve an on-campus voter registration rate of 80%. Prior to joining Equal Justice Works, Jonathan worked briefly at the International Economic Development Council as a membership associate. He now looks forward to his tenure at Equal Justice Works as a Development Coordinator.
