Sherene Thomas is a fellowships portfolio manager at Equal Justice Works, where she oversees Fellows and Fellowship sponsors in the Midwest/DMV region.
Sherene Thomas previously worked as an Attorney Search Director in the Washington, D.C. office of Parker + Lynch Legal, where she focused on lateral and partner attorney recruitment and business development. While at Parker + Lynch Legal, Sherene was an active member of the corporation’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Alliance, and assisted law firms and in-house legal teams with recruiting more diverse attorney candidates and counseled clients on effective methods to retain top legal talent.
Sherene began her career working as an Administrative Law Judge for the State of Florida’s Department of Economic Opportunity and prior to relocating to Washington, D.C., Sherene worked as a District Outreach Coordinator for Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and as a Congressional Intern for Former Congressman Alan Grayson. Her public interest experience includes serving on the Board of Directors and Legal Panel for the ACLU of Florida and on the Board of Directors for the Orlando Chapter of the National Congress of Black Women.
She received her B.S. in Psychology and Criminology and her M.P.A from Florida State University and her J.D. from Barry University School of Law.
