Zakia A. Nesbitt

Zakia A. Nesbitt is an Enterprise Contract Manager for CVS Health, where she is responsible for drafting and reviewing Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, Confidentiality Agreements and other 3rd party vendor-related agreements. Zakia provides legal support and regulatory guidance to internal business partners to facilitate various contract negotiations. Her legal experience includes supporting legal teams in arbitration and mediation, legal contract development, and risk analysis. She possesses a working knowledge of various healthcare regulatory subject matter areas, including anti-kickback, Stark, HIPAA, Medicare and Medicaid, and other regulatory and licensure requirements applicable to hospital or healthcare entity operations. Zakia has effectively leveraged her in-depth medical background to evaluate medical malpractice, personal injury, and other cases involving health-related claims.

Zakia is a 2021 graduate of LSU Law Center where she served as the Member at Large for the Southwest Region on the National Black Law Students Association’s Board of Directors. Ms. Nesbitt has been recognized for her leadership and achievement by numerous organizations including LSU Law’s Public Interest Legal Society and the National Association of Women Judges.

Prior to attending law school, Zakia served as a Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor for the Utilization Management team at Aetna Insurance Company. She maintains her status as a National Certified Counselor with NBCC and holds the designation of Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina. Zakia earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Masters in Counseling from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University.

Zakia is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and previously interned at the Office of Federal Employee Appeals in Washington, D.C., The State of Louisiana Office of the Attorney General and The Clorox Company.
