Disaster Recovery Legal Corps

The Equal Justice Works Disaster Recovery Legal Corps (DRLC) mobilizes 23 Fellows to serve a two-year term delivering critical legal assistance to communities in Texas and Florida affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.

Fellows help with issues related to housing, public benefits, employment, disability rights, immigration,  and other hurricane-related legal problems. Fellows receive substantive and skills-based training before the start of the program, which will equip them with the tools they need to assist with disaster recovery.

The Disaster Recovery Legal Corps has received philanthropic support from the American Red Cross, Bigglesworth Family Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Florida Bar Foundation, Fong Family Foundation, Houston Immigration Legal Services Collaborative, Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, and the Texas Access to Justice Foundation.

Applications for DRLC are no longer being accepted. You can find a list of organizations currently hosting DRLC Fellows below.
