The Project
The overarching purpose of the Fellowship expanded existing services to domestic violence victims at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid in South Texas to address the economic concerns that many battered women must overcome when trying to leave their batterers. The project achieved this goal by expanding current legal services and establishing a women’s cooperative to create economic opportunities for women.
