The Project

As an Equal Justice Works Fellow at Human Rights First, Archi provided legal information and counsel to asylum seekers held in detention. She combined her direct service experience with research and analysis to help expose the harm to immigrants and refugees across the country caused by the inhumane policies of the post-9/11 era.

Next Steps

Archi is Chief Executive Officer of the Tahirih Justice Center, a national, nonprofit organization that serves immigrant survivors of gender-based violence. Archi joined Tahirih in 2014 as its director of public policy, helping to shine a light on the specific and harmful impacts of immigration policies on survivors of violence, and has also led programs and communications as needed.

Before joining Tahirih, Archi served as Deputy Director of the Immigration Intervention Project at Sanctuary for Families in New York City, where she ran a pro bono asylum program and worked alongside survivors trying to end female genital mutilation/cutting in the United States.
