The Project

Ashley provided indigent clients in the Middle Georgia area with assistance overcoming the civil and criminal barriers to prisoner reentry in an effort to reduce recidivism in our community.

What’s Next?

Following her Fellowship, Ashley joined Mercer University as the Assistant Director of Career Services focusing on career counseling in public interest law. She is currently an attorney at her practice, Deadwyler Law, LLC in Macon, Georgia. Ashley is a general civil and criminal trial attorney with special emphasis on immigration law, criminal defense, nonprofit law, and family law. She still maintains a large pro bono practice and leads a clinic of Mercer students at the Macon Circuit Public Defender’s office whose goal is to model the holistic approach to criminal defense she learned while at the Georgia Justice Project and serve as a resource for this approach to criminal defense throughout the Public Defender system in Georgia.
