The Project

My project is focused on preserving the stock of affordable housing in Los Angeles. As long-term subsidy contracts with the government expire and private owners are incentivized to increase rents to market levels, the city is at risk of losing thousands of units in the next several years, which would exacerbate the already severe affordable housing shortage. Through enforcement of resident rights, advocacy for preservation strategies and broader community eduction, my work focuses on trying to keep as many of these units affordable as possible.
