Brittanny Perrigue Gomez is a 2018 Equal Justice Works Fellow serving in the Disaster Recovery Legal Corps (DRLC).
Brittanny provides legal services to residents of counties in south and west Texas directly impacted by natural disasters, with a focus on direct representation in FEMA, Small Business Association, and insurance matters arising from Hurricane Harvey. She works to build coalitions and institutional knowledge to support the program’s response to future disasters and participates in larger-scale advocacy efforts, both for Harvey long-term recovery efforts as well as ongoing efforts focused on disaster preparedness and new responses.
Brittanny has worked with individual disaster survivors and alongside other federal agencies to aid in multiple disaster recovery responses, most recently with the United States Small Business Administration Office of Disaster Recovery. She also has experience in criminal defense, family law, employment law, and real estate law. Brittanny holds a B.A. in history and a graduate certificate in advanced international affairs from Texas A&M University. She is a 2017 graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Law.
