The Project

I am a EJW AmeriCorps Legal Fellow at Catholic Migration Services. The purpose of the project is to provide free legal representation and related legal services to Unaccompanied Alien Children in removal proceedings before the New York Immigration Court, who meet the Justice AmeriCorps case acceptance criteria.

The Inspiration

Why is this Project Important

Children in removal proceedings must maneuver complex proceedings without being afforded the right to free legal representation. Therefore, providing free legal representation is critically important as it hopefully increases the possibility of achieving a favorable outcome while also ensuring greater advocacy on behalf of this especially vulnerable population.
