The Project

The Reentry Project at WLC is focused on providing economically disadvantaged clients with services that address the legal barriers encountered as they exit the criminal justice system and reenter the community. These services include assisting with criminal record clearance remedies, helping to lift driver’s license holds, enforcing consumer protections that mandate fair criminal reporting in background checks, and providing services to individuals with outstanding consumer debt or identity theft issues. The ultimate goal is to remove obstacles that prevent clients from securing employment and from attaining financial stability more broadly.

As the sibling of a sister with disabilities, I learned early that my voice could be a tool for others. I communicated what she could not herself or if others were simply unwilling to listen.
