The Project

Courtney focused on serving currently and formerly incarcerated survivors of intimate partner violence and family violence. The majority of her advocacy was in domestic violence court, where Courtney represent clients seeking or enforcing civil protection orders. Also, Courtney represented currently incarcerated survivors in front of the U.S. Parole Commission when they have been charged with violating the conditions of their release. When not engaging in direct legal representation, Courtney researched legal questions for District of Columbia inmates incarcerated locally or in federal prisons, and met with walk-in clients to assess and address their legal issues.
