The Project

Jeremy Corley provided legal representation for immigrant minors who have been abandoned, abused, or neglected by at least one parent. The minors are provided with legal representation in immigration court and assistance with applications for legal status.

The basic legal needs of a very vulnerable population are addressed by this project. Dealing with a new language and new laws in a new country is an enormous burden on the clients, most of whom have very modest means. This project directly addresses the gaps in language and legal knowledge faced by the clients. Historically, respondents in immigration courts have a far better success rate when represented by counsel.
