The Project

Maggie assisted self-represented litigants (SRL) and increased access to legal information which could prevent/mitigate legal problems. In practice, this also included the coordination of pro se clinics for divorce, joint custody, and expungement of criminal records. Maggie supervised a new Self Help Resource Center in Baton Rouge Family Court for SRLs and established new Self Help Resource Centers in rural parishes for people who cannot afford legal representation. Additionally, Maggie created a pro se assistance desk in Orleans and Jefferson parishes to help people defend against eviction.
