The Project

Natasha represented former death row inmates who are granted new sentencing hearings due to constitutional violations. If these defendants are simply resentenced to death, prosecutors will strengthen their argument that these errors are harmless. Natasha sought to prevent the creation of this dreadful precedent. Absent this representation, these individuals will inevitably be resentenced to death, which will fuel perceptions that fundamental rights – such as the right to trials free of racism and prosecutorial misconduct – are mere technicalities.
