The Project

Sparky provided legal advocacy, representation, and education for service-members and veterans to prevent harm from predatory financial services and practices, with a focus on preventing mortgage foreclosure.

Service-members and veterans face unique challenges when confronted with foreclosure, and they and their families are often targeted by predatory lenders. They also have unique options available to them in the form of legal protections and financial assistance. This project brought legal services for service-members, veterans, and military families together with legal services for foreclosure and other consumer finance problems. The result is an integrated network of knowledgeable advocates, eager to represent military families in avoiding foreclosure and combating other financial harm.
