Hannah Tanabe

The Project

Greater Boston Legal Services’ CORI & Re-entry Project is the only legal aid program in Massachusetts with a large-scale volume practice of CORI clients. Hannah’s project worked to seal criminal record to remove a barrier to employment and other opportunities, so that individuals can continue to move forward with their lives.

Hannah was  the right person for the project because she worked on unemployment benefits cases and began to wonder about all of the individuals who cannot even get a job because of their criminal record.

The Project

GBLS’s Elder Abuse Prevention Project works to address elder abuse issues as they arise. Dvora worked to ensure that older adults in the Boston area live free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. She also developed strategies to prevent abuse from occurring in the first place.

Dvora was the right person for the project because she served as a caregiver for her grandmother and great aunt as they age.

The Project

Sheba assisted low-income elders in the Greater Boston area to ensure that they live free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. This project encompasses a variety of issues including public housing evictions or appealing a termination of federal and state benefits.

Sheba was the right person for the project because of her undeniable passion to prevent vulnerable communities from all forms of abuse, abandonment, and/ or neglect.
