The Inspiration

Need Addressed By Project

The civil legal issues veterans face include, but are not limited to, securing government benefits for which the veteran is eligible, employment disputes, accessing sustainable housing and medical care, family law matters, legal matters related to wage garnishments, consumer and medical debt, and criminal record expungements.

The Right Person For This Project

Stephanie is the right name for this project because:

  • Her father served in the United States Air Force
  • She is always excited to engage in community outreach
  • After law school, she spent a year volunteering at the Legal Aid Society and provided legal advice and representation to low income individuals and families.

What’s Next

In the next six months, Stephanie Schulte plans to:

  • Recruit volunteer private attorneys to take pro bono cases
  • Maintain and build upon the Kentucky Corps of Advocates for Veterans
  • Continue to provide efficient and effective services to veterans that will have a lasting impact on the individual veteran and the community as a whole.
