The Project

This Crime Victims Justice Corps Fellowship provided trauma-informed legal services to immigrant trafficking survivors and provided outreach activities to educate community members about the identification of, rights, legal options, and services available to trafficking survivors. Vanessa met individually with survivors to inform and educate them about the availability and eligibility of services. She also helped with language and communication issues.

Before joining the Fellowship, Vanessa worked at the YMCA International Services for two years. She has experience representing crime victims before the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration Court, and representing immigrant children in Family Court and Immigration Court. She is fluent in English and Spanish, in addition to being committed to serving immigrants and culturally diverse clients.
