Alexander Roberts

Program Manager

Alexander (Al) Roberts is a program manager at Equal Justice Works.

Al first joined the organization as a temporary assistant in March 2016, where he played an important role assisting the public programs unit with the enrollment of hundreds of AmeriCorps JD law student members. After holding several positions in the private sector, he was drawn to Equal Justice Works because of his interest in social justice issues.

In early years with the organization, Al supported the execution of two prominent AmeriCorps fellowship programs, which aimed to provide legal assistance to immigrant communities in New York State and nationally. Transferring skills he acquired through the oversight of past programs, he began his work in the disaster field in 2018 with the implementation of the Disaster Recovery Legal Corps, which had placed Fellows in Texas and Florida to assist survivors of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. Al now supports management of the Disaster Resilience Program, expanding the scope of Fellows’ work to aid clients beyond the Gulf Coast region, and onto a national stage.

Al graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Political Science.
